Engagement Photo Shoot / E-Session
Congratulations on your engagement! I’m now proud to offer you an obligation free engagement photo shoot.
Why have an engagement photo shoot?
When choosing a wedding photographer, you typically will meet with a few, check out their work, and see if you “click” with them. You both then make a decision based on your impression of and confidence in the photographer. But what if you could actually see your photographer in action, actually taking photos of the two of you? Wouldn’t it be great to be able to see photos of you both before the wedding, taken by the photographer you’re interested in booking?
An engagement (also called pre-wedding) photo shoot is a great way to build rapport with your photographer, and to see how they capture you. You also get some great professional casual photos of yourselves to keep and print.
On a personal note, I love engagement shoots because when the wedding day rolls around, I find the couple and I are more at ease with each other, and the location photos and day run much more smoothly because you’ll know what to expect.
Choosing a location
Do you love the beach? Do you prefer urban grit and grunge, or maybe trees and greenery? Whatever your flavour, we can take some wonderful relaxed photos of the two of you in surroundings that mean something to you. I’m happy to suggest some photogenic locations or you can tell me where you’d like to go.
How does it work?
It’s easy …
- Once we’ve worked out a location, we set a date for the photos
- We meet up on the day (you can wear casual clothes or formal clothes - both work well as long as you’re comfortable)
- For one or two hours I’ll capture the two of you just being yourselves and enjoying each other’s company. It’s a lot of fun and very relaxed.
- After a couple of weeks you’ll receive all your photos on disc, professionally edited
- You choose 3 or 4 of your favourites from the day, and I will put together a beautiful canvas layout for you
- Once you’re happy with it I’ll get it printed for you to keep or display at the reception entrance for guests to admire (and they will admire it!). It’s yours to keep so you can take it home afterwards and hang it up.
Pricing
For the engagement photo session the cost is $250, which includes all your professionally edited photos in high resolution on a disc. This also includes a 20 by 30 inch professionally designed canvas with photos of your choice (see the example below). There’s no obligation to book Photos by Jay for your wedding day.
